New Website

Forest Avenue Press has worked with Jensen Sikora, owner of Jensen of Many Hats, to revamp our aging website.

“After ten years of publishing, it was time to update the site to have a more contemporary look,” said Publisher Laura Stanfill. “Jensen brought their excellent organizational and technical skills to our project. They’re fabulous, attentive to detail, and a true joy to work with. We’re so thrilled to showcase Forest Avenue authors and their awards with this fresh and simplified site.”

A transmasculine Jack of all Trades and self-proclaimed hobbit, Jensen Sikora (they/them) is a creative problem-solver with a background in higher education and nonprofit arts administration. Having earned a Bachelor of Art in Creative Writing and a Master’s of Liberal Studies in Theatre Community from the University of Michigan-Flint, their creative works run the gamut from playwriting to illustration to graphic design.  Jensen lives happily in a hobbit-house with their spouse and spoiled fur babies.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working on the redesign of the Forest Avenue Press website,” said designer Jensen Sikora. “From the project’s start, Laura revealed herself to be passionate and enthusiastic — not only in the work she conducts as a publisher, but also as an advocate for writers as they engage in their creative practices. Should I have the opportunity to collaborate with Laura and Forest Avenue Press in the future, I would gladly do so.”

Forest Avenue Press was founded in 2012 to publish Oregon authors. The traditional, independent publishing house soon opened submissions to U.S. authors after earning distribution with Publishers Group West. Forest Avenue has won two Oregon Literary Fellowships for Publishing, has been named a Best Small Press by Reedsy, and was chosen as one of the “100 Reasons to Love Portland” by Portland Monthly magazine. It was named for publisher Laura Stanfill’s elementary school in New Jersey, where the librarian taught Laura to bind her first book.
