At Wordstock 2013, on Oct. 5 and 6, Forest Avenue Press authors and volunteers met lots of writers, readers, publishers, and industry members. We also sold books, signed books, attended lectures and workshops, spoke on panels, and enjoyed every minute being immersed in this local literary fellowship. In fact, we did so much, and took so many photos, it took a week to get this post compiled.
Special thanks to all the volunteers who made this year’s Wordstock festival possible. Despite the sunny weather, which kept some people away, Forest Avenue Press had a really successful first Wordstock. We loved our booth placement, sharing with the Oregon Poetry Association, and across from Ooligan, and those of us who had readings and panels had such fun talking about what we love: books and writing.
The next Wordstock is slated for March 2015 up at Portland State University, and we can’t wait. But we’ll have to. Here’s to more connections, more friendly faces, and even more fun for our authors in a year and a half. And in the meantime, if you want to see some more Wordstock photos, check out publisher Laura Stanfill’s personal writing blog.
