The Night, and the Rain, and the River at the Grange

The annual Writers’ Night at the Springwater Grange featured authors Robin Cody, Stevan Allred, and Joanna Rose on Saturday, April 19.

Robin read pieces of his debut novel, Ricochet River, recently named one of the top forty Northwest books by Powell’s staffers. Stevan shared a new version of “The Painted Man,” a story in his linked collection, A Simplified Map of the Real World, which he revised to fit the occasion. Joanna read her story, “A Good Crack and Break,” which concludes The Night, and the Rain, and the River, Forest Avenue Press’ new anthology.

The Q and A featured all three talking about their work, including Robin and Stevan discussing how their fictionalized versions of Estacada were received by the community.
