Read the blurbs, reviews, features, and other accolades about A Simplified Map of the Real World, Stevan Allred’s acclaimed linked short story collection, in our catalog. A Simplified Map was released in September 2013 as Forest Avenue Press’ first fiction title.

  1. I found Stevan Allred’s writing to be masterful, muscular, and sensitive at the same time. His characters are just quirky enough to pop off the page, and yet their peculiarity never feels forced or gimmicky. You want to live inside their heads for a while, even if you don’t necessarily want to live next door to them. I couldn’t put the book down.
