Laura Stanfill in Publishers Weekly

Laura Stanfill, publisher of Forest Avenue Press, was recognized in today’s Publishers Weekly for helping to increase PubWest membership since attending her first conference a year ago.

At last year’s PubWest conference, Laura Stanfill, founder of Forest Avenue Press was a first-time attendee. According to Watson, in the year that has elapsed since, Stanfill has brought many new members to the organization, and he cited her energy as an example of how to get the word out and build excitement for the organization going forward.

Forest Avenue launched its Main Street Writers Movement on Feb. 9 at AWP in Washington, D.C., to encourage writers to build community at the local level. Publishers Weekly also touted Stanfill’s pro-community stance in its November independent publishing Northwest special section.

PubWest’s next conference will be in Pasadena in February 2018.
