Landfall wins Peace Corps Award

Landfall CoverLandfall by Ellen Urbani is the winner of the Maria Thomas Fiction Award from Peace Corps Worldwide. The awards were judged by a panel of book publishers, magazine editors, and writers.

Read more about the award here. It will be announced officially by Marian Beil, publisher of Peace Corps Writers, at the National Peace Corps Association conference in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 24, during the General Session.

Landfall was published in August 2015 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. It was long listed for the Crook’s Corner Book Prize, and the French edition, out from Gallmeister, was shortlisted for the Prix Littéraire des Chroniclers Web 2016.

The biggest book club in the world, the Pulpwood Queens and Timber Guys, has also chosen Landfall for its September 2016 selection.
