Sometimes it seems three-fourths of the publishing process happens after the publication of a book–publicizing that the book exists, sharing reviews and feature stories, and occasionally, advertising.
Forest Avenue Press is a huge fan of independent booksellers, and you’ll note most of our links avoid the online shops and encourage local sales. We’re especially grateful to the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association for working regionally on the behalf of local bookstores, and offering small presses like us an opportunity to reach many booksellers and librarians to tell them about our latest titles.
With this philosophy in mind, we recently created this ad for Dan Berne’s debut novel, The Gods of Second Chances, which is now up on NW Book Lovers, PNBA’s online magazine.
Thanks to PNBA for offering such opportunities, and especially to Northwest booksellers who stock our titles and hand-sell them to their readers. And we’re very grateful to all the readers, reviewers, and authors who have told their communities about The Gods of Second Chances. We hope to continue the word of mouth, the regional events, and the good news for Dan’s debut, in the coming months and years.
If you’re a bookseller, and want a copy of The Gods of Second Chances, or another Forest Avenue title, to consider for your shelves, please contact us. ARCs for Carry the Sky, poet Kate Gray’s debut novel, will be available in May.
