Book Tour Continues

We’re officially mid-book tour!

Stevan Allred appeared at Village Books in Bellingham on Friday night, and then at Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle on Saturday.

At the Bellingham event, Stevan read the title story, “A Simplified Map of the Real World,” told from the point of view of nine-year-old Cal Lingstrom. Special thanks for publicity help goes to Lisa Colburn of Bellingham.

The reading at Elliott Bay Book Company featured Laurie Paus, the illustrator of A Simplified Map of the Real World. She’s a Seattle artist and she works as a bookseller at the venerable Elliott Bay, so many of her friends and family gathered to hear Stevan read “His Ticky Little Mind” and to applaud Laurie’s accomplishment.

Laurie illustrated all fifteen stories in the linked story collection, and Stevan praised her style, discussed how the collaboration worked in terms of deciding what to illustrate, and displayed four framed drawings.

Next up, Stevan will speak at The Artist Edge salon hosted by Lori Ryland, followed by Forest Avenue Press’ appearances at Wordstock on Oct. 5 and 6.

Here are some photos of the Elliott Bay reading.
