A Few Days Left

Our submission window for an Oregon and southwest Washington short story anthology, slated for May 2014 publication, is open for a few more days. We will quit accepting stories at midnight, Pacific time, on Wednesday, July 31.

Thanks to everyone who has submitted so far. We’ve had a wonderful turnout, and we’re especially excited to see entries from all over the state of Oregon and southwest Washington. Our stalwart editor Liz Prato has been combing through the entries, and she hopes to notify everyone by October. There’s a lot to read, though, and she’ll be making many tough decisions, so please be patient.

As a reminder, we are looking for short stories only, not novel excerpts or essays, and do not put your name on the manuscript or in the title of your submission; Liz is reading the entries blind. She is given the name of each author only after the decision is made, so she can write personalized letters.

To submit, check out the Forest Avenue Submittable page. For more specifics on this anthology and what Forest Avenue Press is seeking, check out our submissions page.
